Stardream Metallic Tea Boxes

Hello to everyone and Happy Holidays to you and yours. We are so happy that you have dropped by to see what's happening in the CutCardStock world and hope you will come by often! At this time of year especially, I like to have a number of small packages on hand to drop off to neighbors and friends to spread a little bit of cheer. This year I have made a number of tea boxes for some special seasonal tea and some honey packs.

These boxes are so quick and easy to make for those times you need a little gift. Here are two examples showing that you can make them as simple or as decorated as you wish.

The measurements I am giving you are for the items shown above--a box of tea bags and 6-8 packs of honey-to-go. You first will need to determine the size of the items you wish to include. For each box I  used two sheets of 12"X12"  Basis White 80# Cardstock cut to 11"X11" square. I then scored each sheet at 2 7/8" and 8 1/8" in both directions. Using a bone folder, make all of the score lines crisp.

This picture shows where you will need to clip in and where you can use either double-sided tape or a strong adhesive to make the bottom of the box, folding the tabs to the inside.

For the top of the box, you will cut out two adjacent corners which will allow for the back of the box. This picture will hopefully show the cuts and adhesive pattern I have used.

The panel covered with tape will be the back of the box which will allow the box to be a flip-top style. The small tabs will again be folded to the inside. The is what the box will look like when the back is adhered and the top is flipped back.

At this point you can decorate in any way you wish--as simply or as decorated as you prefer. For these two boxes I used gorgeous shimmery papers from the Stardream Metallic Cardstock Collection. I'm not sure you will be able to tell in the pictures but these papers glisten so beautifully!

The snowflakes are cut from the Stardream Metallic layered with POW Glitter Paper, the Noel is a glitter ornament, and the corners are POW papers as well.

This box was decorated with pre-gathered lace, braided trim, mulberry flowers, and cut-outs and stickers from a Tilda collection.

This gorgeous Stardream Metallic Collection of papers and all white cardstock are on a special sale at the moment at the CutCardstock store...so come on over and check it out!!

Thank you so  much for your visit today. If you try this little project I would love to see your creations...so please let me know!! Until the next time, hugs from Jacque!!

  1. I've never made a flip top box, always two separate items for the box and lid. I should try your tutorial!
